STUDIO ONE SHOWCASE VOL.11
Baby (The Heptones); There Ain't Nobody Else (The Heptones); Undying Love (Ernest Wilson) // Almost Anything (Alton Ellis); I Love You (The Heptones); I Don't Mind (The Bassies) The first Studio 1 label doesn't mention a volume number, so it is likely that the initial pressing was issued in a blank sleeve. However, it must have immediately proved to be a popular release, as there are several subsequent repressings in a variety of slightly different sleeves. Note that the sides are reversed (the Side 1 matrix reads SOL 1128 B). The recycled screenprint sleeve above is printed on the back of a Selsun Blue Anti-Dandruff Shampoo carton. The later repress on the Coxsone label comes in the same sleeve. An excellent selection of tracks presented 'showcase style' (the vocal followed by the version mix). One of my all-time favourite Studio One albums!

Probably the second in the series of represses in a screenprint sleeve. Note the different catalogue number. Sleeve illustration courtesy of Cyrille Fouques. ((Click sleeve to enlarge.))
A variation of the red screenprint sleeve, printed on the back of The Heptones (first LP) cover (partially printed in magenta ink only on white card). ((Click sleeve to enlarge.))
Probably the first in the series of represses in a screenprint sleeve. ((Click sleeve to enlarge.))
A variation of the green screenprint sleeve, printed on recycled grey card.
Almost Anything (Alton Ellis); I Love You (The Heptones); I Don't Mind (The Bassies) // Baby (The Heptones); There Ain't Nobody Else (The Heptones); Undying Love (Ernest Wilson)
Repress in a recycled screenprint sleeve printed on the back of a Lipton's Pronto Teabags carton. The sides are now renumbered correctly, so the Side 1 matrix reads SOL 1128 A.. ((Click sleeve to enlarge.))
Baby (The Heptones); There Ain't Nobody Else (The Heptones); Undying Love (Ernest Wilson) // Almost Anything (Alton Ellis); I Love You (The Heptones); I Don't Mind (The Bassies)
This is an interesting anomaly, neither the sleeve nor the label includes the volume number or the catalogue number, and the label is the same as the earliest issue. The vinyl looks new and it is a very clean pressing. The recycled screenprint sleeve is printed on the back of a Super Sudsil carton. ((Click sleeve to enlarge.))
Baby (The Heptones); There Ain't Nobody Else (The Heptones); Undying Love (Ernest Wilson) // Almost Anything (Alton Ellis); I Love You (The Heptones); I Don't Mind (The Bassies)
The tracks are listed on the wrong side on the Coxsone label (Side 2 plays Baby), but correctly on the Studio 1 label. The new sleeve design is by Guy Coombs with graphics by D.Lawrence. ((Click sleeve to enlarge.))
Almost Anything (Alton Ellis); I Love You (The Heptones); I Don't Mind (The Bassies); Pupa Lick (Soul Vendors) // Everybody Rude Now (Keith McCarthy); Baby (The Heptones); Ain't Nobody Else (The Heptones); Undying Love (Ernest Wilson); Hard To Confess (The Heptones)
1990s US remix with three extra tracks, Pupa Lick, Everybody Rude Now and Hard To Confess, none of which are extended 'showcase style'. Confusingly, the matrix numbers are the same as for the previous pressings.

Baby (The Heptones); Ain't Nobody Else (The Heptones); Undying Love (Ernest Wilson); Almost Anything (Alton Ellis); I Love You (The Heptones); I Don't Mind (The Bassies); Hard To Confess (The Heptones); I'll Give It To You (The Tonettes); Ten To One (Cornel Campbell); All I Have Is Love (Johnnie Osbourne
Excellent Heartbeat CD edition with four additional tracks, Hard To Confess, I'll Give It To You, Ten To One and All I Have Is Love (all extended mixes), but omitting Pupa Lick and Everybody Rude Now.
