Hmm... an intriguing album of rather dubious origin - being a compilation of 11 classic Studio One rhythm tracks overdubbed with pre-recorded vocals from an illustrious cast of both the living and the dearly departed. I must admit that I was sceptical at first, but this set is beginning to grow on me. The two Sam Cooke tracks sound magnificent, of course, and I could happily listen to more Gregory Isaacs vocals over Studio One rhythms. Pity that Elvis doesn't quite cut the mustard...
