The Cecil Lloyd Trio is actually a quartet, featuring Cecil Lloyd on piano, Cluett Johnson on bass, Sparrow Martin on drums and Larry McDonald on congo drums. The LP was pressed in the UK in very limited quantities and distributed by Chris Blackwell's Island Records group as part of the very collectable SOL 9000 series (recognisable by the SOL+MX stamped matrix). The music itself is acoustic jazz instrumentals, and the enthusiastic sleeve notes are written by Ernest Ranglin.
