Brian Keyo has lovingly compiled this fitting tribute to the late, great Tommy McCook, who sadly passed away in May 1998. We get eighteen scorching ska and ‘jazz Jamaica’ classics recorded at Studio One, Federal and Treasure Isle studios between 1962 and 1965, all but two of which feature the traditional Skatalites line-up (Jazz Walking and The Answer being the exceptions). Most of these titles appear here for the first time on CD, and Jazz Walking and Ska Legion are previously unreleased on any format. Brian provides comprehensive sleeve notes (a shame the photos are so small) and a useful track by track list of soloists. | ||
